Measures for safe participation in events

Safety for all persons involved in our trade fairs and events is always a top priority for Mikrocentrum and our partners. We are convinced that we can offer visitors and exhibitors a safe environment to network, share knowledge and discover the latest innovations. Together with the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch and the Brainport Industries Campus, we are taking far-reaching measures to achieve a maximum safe environment. We have implemented this at our own location where other parties can also organize events. We closely follow the guidelines from the government and go one step further. We also base our confidence in a safe environment on the research results and recommendations of, among others, the Field Lab Events.

Guidelines and protocols

Various guidelines and protocols have been created for Mikrocentrum's activities on location as well as for our events at other locations (such as trade fairs). We also follow protocols that have been drawn up by and in cooperation with various trade associations in the events sector. Mikrocentrum is also affiliated with the Dutch initiative Veilig naar de Vakbeurs (Safetly visiting Trade Fairs). Visitors and exhibitors are informed shortly before the start of an event about which measures and protocols apply to that event.

Q&A: answers to the most frequently asked questions

1. Are business events allowed this fall?
Yes. The events that Mikrocentrum organizes are allowed. For trade fairs, these can be characterized as events with a continuos flow of people. A maximum number of 1 person per 5m2 applies here. Personnel and exhibitors are not included in this. For theme meetings, these fall under the indoor events with a fixed seat and/or throughput. See a short overview from the national government

2. Do i need a corona entry pass to enter the events?
Yes. The government makes the corona entry pass mandatory in places where many people come together. At both our location and at our partner locations, many people come into contact with each other every day. Our locations and events therefore fall under the 'Event Regulations. Mikrocentrum follows the guidelines and advice from the government and always áims for an optimally safe environment. This means that we will introduce the corona entry pass as of September 25. Upon arrival, your corona entry pass will be scanned in the Corona CheckApp and your ID (ID card or passport) will be checked. You will be admitted to the location with a valid vaccination certificate, test certificate (max. 24 hours old) or recovery certificate.

We emphasize that your privacy is always protected. Your data from the corona CheckApp will not be stored and will only be used for checking the evidence. We do, however, register your name and address. data for the benefit of source and contact research.

3. Can I go to the fair or an event without a corona entry pass?
New. Showing a valid corona entry pass is mandatory by the government. We ask for your cooperation and understanding. If you are unable or unwilling to provide an corona entry pass, you may not enter the event.

4. To whom does the check on the corona entry pass apply?
The check applies to everyone who visits or participates in our events. We ask for the full cooperation of our visitors, exhibitors (stand staff), suppliers and our own employees.

5. Where is the check taking place?
The check takes place when entering the event location. Here, both a valid ticket for the event and the corona entry pass are checked. Sufficient space will be set up at the entrance to allow large groups to check in quickly and safely. Clear signage indicates where you can go for the check.

6. How and what will be checked?

At the registration desk, the Mikrocentrum employees will check your corona entry pass, your ticket for the event and your proof of identity (passport, ID card or driver's license). By corona admission we mean:

  • The Corona Check app: the QR code of your vaccination, test or recovery certificate is scanned. Only the QR code that is released 14 days after the last vaccination is accepted as proof of vaccination.
  • The yellow vaccination booklet or vaccination certificate: here too, the last vaccination must have taken place at least 14 days before the start of the event
  • Valid test proof: tested negative for corona (PCR or rapid test with a validity of up to 24 hours). Make sure you get tested before your visit to one of our events.

7. Is showing an ID mandatory during the corona check?
Yes. The government states that both the corona entry pass and the ID card must be checked. Providing the safest possible environment is our top priority. To prevent misunderstandings and the risk of contamination, we match your corona entry pass with your ID details.

8. Are there also checks during the set-up and dismantling of trade fairs and other events?
No. The current occupancy rate at the location is low during the construction and dismantling and we have more than enough space to allow sufficient distance. In addition, all locations where our events are organized are equipped with an advanced air purification system and the open doors for supplying the stuff provide extra ventilation.

9. Are multi-day events re-checked every day?
Yes. The check is carried out every day at the entrance.

It is not yet possible to say with certainty what the eventual visitor numbers will be, but as an organization we do everything we can to make our upcoming events a great success.

However, the situation is subject to change and we will take appropriate measures and actions in time for the events still planned.

We also follow guidelines according to the protocol described by the Event Platform for business meetings and apply specific measures that are appropriate for Food Technology. On this page we will keep you informed of all measures, guidelines and protocols taken/to be taken in order to offer you a maximum safe visit.

Measures at Food Technology

The entire exhibition floor has been designed in such a way that you can keep a distance of one and a half meters everywhere. This applies to the stands, the aisles 5 meters wide, the VIP lounges and the lecture halls. Give each other the space to quietly discover the exhibition floor. Disinfecting handrail will be available throughout the event and in the common areas. Disinfect your hands regularly!

In order to maintain sufficient physical distance, we monitor the number of people present in the halls at all times and if necessary we adjust the measures and working method. All this in line with local government guidelines. The measures applied at the fair will be further expanded in the coming period and adapted to the measures, situation and developments indicated by RIVM.

For your visit, the following advice applies:

  • Wash/clean your hands regularly, especially after sneezing / coughing, with soap or disinfectant handle.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 meters as much as possible.
  • When sneezing/coughing, cover your nose and mouth with a paper tissue or sneeze/cough in your elbow. Discard used tissues immediately and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Avoid close contact with people who show symptoms such as sneezing / coughing, shortness of breath or fever.
  • Avoid shaking hands with other people or wash/disinfect your hands immediately after shaking.

Contact your general practitioner directly by phone in case of symptoms and/or when you come from a corona affected area. Are you showing symptoms of disease or have you been in contact with a corona patient? As an organization, we ask persons who have or have had symptoms or who have been in contact with Corona infected persons not to come to Food Technology.
